As a System Administrator I have been given a responsibility by the CEO in handling all the technical issue and problem regarding hardware and system.
Duties Include:
· Install and Configure Windows 2000 Operating System for Servers and Professional
· Maintain Network (LAN) connectivity.
· To setup and maintain Internet connection for user.
· Creating user authentication and user email addresses
· Setting up desktop computers with application for users
· Setup local & network printers
· Provide technical and administrative support for users
· Preparing proposal for buying and upgrading system
· Update software patches
· Do weekly backup of html, waves and database files
· Update Server and Desktop virus pattern
· Software licensing update
· Provide write up report to immediate manager regarding computers, internet usage, web hits and email usage.
· Upload and download Demo Files to Server
· Maintain Prepaid printing machine
· Maintain Studio recording System
Office Scenario
There were 60 units of desktop machine running windows 2000 professional and 4 units of Servers running Windows 2000 for Server configured for each department.
· Human resources & Account Department for running Personal files & UBS Accounting System
· Production Department for wave and demo files storing.
· Development Department for running SQL Server and Web Server Beta Test
· Technical Department for Internet Proxy Server & multi file storage
There were 2 more units of Server base in US and Toronto. Those servers were used for running live email application, web hosting for 20 websites, web statistic application, SQL database and IIS (Internet Information Service ).
I managed the outstation servers via an application called “PC Anywhere”.
Web statistic was used to monitor the number of hits people browse to our websites, with this application helped me to write a report and later submit it to the CEO & Marketing Manager.
To maintain and check the security plus the concurrent connectivity between servers “IPMONITOR” web enable software were used.
HOSTING CONTROLLER was used to created the web directory for publishing and also for DNS configuration.
